Ground beef in Michigan is recalled

The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the voluntarily recall of about 26,669 pounds of ground beef products distributed in Michigan.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture agency said the ground beef, which might be contaminated with E. coli bacteria, includes various varieties of Abbot's ground beef in 10-, 13-, and 25-pound boxes that were distributed to hotels, restaurants and institutions in Michigan.

Each box of the recalled ground beef bears the establishment number "Est. 10215" inside the USDA mark of inspection and was produced between July 12 and July 20.

Consumers with questions can contact Abbott's Meat Inc., a Flint, Mich., company, at 810-232-7128.
