Cancer groups to improve disclosures on pink wares

October 18, 2012 in Cancer

(AP)—New York's attorney general says the nation's two largest breast cancer charities have adopted his guidelines for fuller disclosure by those selling pink products and services in their names.

Eric Schneiderman (SHNEYE'-dur-muhn) says the Susan G. Komen For The Cure and Breast Cancer Research Foundation are adopting the guidelines.

The guidelines include having companies disclose the specific amount that will be donated from each purchase. Companies using pink ribbons and similar symbols on products also will state if a purchase triggers a donation or merely calls attention to the cause.

The attorney general's Charities Bureau has been reviewing commercial "cause marketing" campaigns. It reviewed the campaigns of nearly 150 companies, finding substantial donations but some confusing information about amounts.

Spokeswomen for both charities say transparency in fundraising is a priority.

Susan G. Komen foundation supports Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood supports, funds, and actually does the killing of unborn girl babies.

If you are a progressive, feel free to support Susan G. Komen.

If you are a conservative or anyone who is pro-life think twice about supporting this organization. Your money is going to causes that have little to do with breast cancer and a lot to do with Porgressive causes.

Planned Parenthood has no issues with killing unborn girl babies if they are not wanted and they don't provide cancer screenings. Which begs the question, why does Susan G. Komen foundation support Planned Parenthood?
