Brazilian man being tested for Ebola; results in 24 hours
Brazil's heath minister says a officials are testing a 46-year-old Brazilian man for a suspected case of Ebola.
Marcelo Castro said the man is being transferred to the country's top infectious disease hospital in Rio de Janeiro, where he will undergo tests.
Results are expected in 24 hours.
Castro was speaking Wednesday at a news conference in the capital, Brasilia.
If confirmed, it would be the country's first case of Ebola.
The man was not identified, but he recently travelled to the West African nation of Guinea, one of the flashpoints of the recent Ebola epidemic.
He returned to Brazil on Nov. 6 and went to a clinic two days later with symptoms including a high fever.
The health workers who came into contact with him are being monitored.
