(AP)—Oregon lawmakers have advanced a bill that would ban minors from using indoor tanning beds.

The House voted 38-18 in favor of the bill Thursday. The measure now heads to the state Senate.

The National Conference of State Legislators says dozens of other states are considering similar legislation this year. Last year, California and Vermont became the first states to adopt bans on teens using indoor tanning beds.
