Oocyte

An oocyte, ovocyte, or rarely ocyte, is a female gametocyte or germ cell involved in reproduction. In other words, it is an immature ovum, or egg cell. During oogenesis the oogonium becomes a primary oocyte (pronounced oh'a-site).
