The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of President's Choice Chocolate Chunk Brownie Cookies because of a labeling error.

The A&M Cookie Co. of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, initiated the voluntary recall of the 12-ounce packages bearing the code date of "03 22 08" because cookies containing milk were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk, thereby presenting a risk to people who might be allergic to it.

The recalled cookies were distributed in Michigan, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana through Jewel Stores and Wisconsin and Minnesota through Roundy's stores.

President's Choice Chocolate Chunk Brownie Cookies sold in Canada are not affected by the recall.

Consumers can return the cookies to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
