Lays classic chips recalled in north Texas

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a recall of 2,460 1.5-ounce bags of Lay's Classic Potato Chips in northern Texas because of a labeling error.

The Frito-Lay Co. initiated the voluntary recall because although labeled "Lay's Classic Potato Chips," the packages might contain Lay's Cheddar & Sour Cream Flavored Potato Chips, presenting a hazard for people with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk.

The product was distributed only through select vending machines in northern Texas.

The recalled packages have a freshness date of Feb. 12 located on the upper right hand side of the package and with the 11 digit code number 12923230985 appearing directly beneath the freshness date.

Consumers with questions can contact the company at 800-352-4477.
