Argentina: 1st local transmission of Zika, likely by sex

Argentine authorities say they've detected the country's first case of local infection with the Zika virus and say it's apparently due to sexual transmission.

The health ministry in Cordoba province said Friday that the woman infected with Zika has no record of recent travel.

It says the virus was likely transmitted by having sex with a man who had symptoms of the virus after traveling to Colombia, one of the countries that has been worst-hit by the .

Officials have reported four cases of people in Argentina infected while traveling abroad.

Zika is generally spread by , though U.S. health officials are investigating more than a dozen possible Zika infections that may have been spread through sex.
