'Time to die,' German clock told hospital patient

December 13, 2013

Doctors at a British hospital were startled when an upset patient told them that the clock in his ward had announced his time was up, the British Medical Journal (BMJ) reported on Thursday.

"The clock is telling me to die," the quoted the patient as saying in an unusual case report.

"Turning to the wall, we confirmed that the clock indeed said, 'DIE,'" said rheumatologists Stuart Carter and Fiona Fawthrop of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, Yorkshire.

"We discovered that the radio-controlled had reverted to German and was displaying an abbreviation of 'Dienstag,'" meaning Tuesday in German.

"We quickly rectified this by pressing several buttons to show the English abbreviation, 'TUE'. Fortunately, it was not the patient's time to die at all."

Right... did anybody notice that 'tue' from the French verb tuer is the imperative form which happens to mean 'kill'. Bad omen. Wouldn't keep that linguistically skilled patient lying in the same room as that clock...

That's doubtful. Whatever happens, it can't be worse than the old system where whether you lived or died depended on how much money you had in your wallet.

Oh really? OK! If you believe that, when it is 'your turn' go ahead and do it and if you don't do it, or, most likely, they do not demand this of you, come back and apologize for telling lies and get checked-in at your local Toronto, Betty Ford Clinic.

Toronto is in another country, 'genius'. Why would you expect a Betty Ford clinic there?

Because, it is the ONLY way you will get treated. Addiction Treatment has like a 18 - 37 month wait-time in Canada. You could WALK to a Betty Ford clinic in that time! Google it yourself nearly all, ALL elective procedures or addiction treatment in Canada is MEGA-backlogged and super expensive...go check..or not!

What does that mean Skippy? It looks like you keep losing your place and don't come back to finish.

Are you implying that he gets all enthusiastic but can't last long enough to finish?
